Johnny Robish’s Bio

About Johnny Robish

Johnny Robish is an actor, stand-up comic and joke/humor writer who lives in Woodland Hills, California who was named “Blogger of the Year for 2012” by AARP.  Johnny also wrote a weekly humor column entitled “Kauai Komedy” in The Garden Island, Kauai’s main newspaper before moving back to California.  A committed writer, Johnny has often stated that “the only time I’m really happy is when I’m sitting in front of a typewriter.  Unfortunately, there are no typewriters anymore, so I’m just miserable all the time.”

Once a favorite at comedy clubs all over the western United States, Johnny rarely does stand-up any longer because “I always felt as if people were laughing at me.”  Johnny’s humor has been published in such diverse venues as the LA Times “Laugh Lines”, medical journals, trade publications, dozens of company newsletters, humor magazines and numerous internet sites including ten local “Patch” online community newspapers, Our Salon.Com, JokeBlogger.ComDailyComedy.Com, TumblrThe FunnyFirm.Com, How Sick Is That? and Peter Bergman’s Radio Free OZ which also features TV’s John Goodman, Edie McClurg and Paul Krassner.  Johnny has also written for road comics including Taylor Negron, Mel Kohl, Marti Schauer and Jere Evans.

Grew up in Lompoc from 69-84 listening to KLOM. Do you have any airchecks of your show?

    • Johnny Robish

Hey Brad! I was there probably right around 1980 or 81. I used to have some air checks, but after having moved to Kauai and then Maui and back to Cali, they are all long lost along with most of my old stand up videos. How did you know I worked in Lompoc? Did I have that on a bio? Johnny
